Art on Tiles is a successful bespoke hand painted tile company which has built a reputation, over more than twenty years, for delivering a good quality custom-made hand painted wall tiles to order.

After giving up the high business overheads of a London location where interior designers could bring their clients, the company needed to find a way of reaching its audience.  Its small size and limited production capacity meant the challenge was to market the product to a global audience at an achievable cost. The obvious tools to focus on were internet marketing and media relations.

Bespoke’s careful web traffic analysis meant that the new Art on Tiles website was optimised for search engines to rate it highly for 'hand painted tiles' - which, the research revealed, was by far the most popular search phrase used by customers. It was also necessary to ensure the website was easily navigable and that there was plenty of content, both to appeal to the search engines and to reassure and inspire its human visitors. Three years on, the initial investment is still delivering the majority of the company’s business with the development cost long ago covered by turnover. 

As for media relations, an ongoing press office programme including; press releases, feature articles and media enquiry responses have delivered coverage in a wide range of publications, most recently including:

  • Homes and Gardens – four page feature April 2011
  • Chichester Observer Magazine – front cover and three page feature
  • Tile and Stone Journal – three page article, commission negotiated and feature written by Bespoke
  • A selection of product coverage in national magazines including: 25 Beautiful Homes, OK magazine, Period Homes, Period Living, BBC Homes and Antiques (full page article), Traditional Kitchens, Period Ideas, Period House, House Beautiful, Country Homes & Interiors, idFX, Homestyle, Good Homes and House & Garden.
